Meet Eileen Witham

When I first came to Nepal as a volunteer in February of 2013, the other volunteers couldn't stop singing the praises of Eileen Witham – a volunteer who had recently returned to New Zealand after five months in Nepal. Eileen, they said, was one of those people who would go out of her way to make everyone feel special, and who was always going the extra mile to help others. When she came again to volunteer this past spring, I could immediately tell why everyone held her in such high regard.

Eileen has served as a volunteer through our program twice, for a total of almost half a year. She shadowed me briefly during her last visit and has personally worked with many of our placements both in Kathmandu and around the country. When it came time to choose someone to take over for me as Director of Volunteer Nepal, there was only one name at the top of my list.

I am proud and thrilled to welcome Eileen Witham as our new Director of Volunteer Nepal. Because of her experience and dedication to our program, Eileen is uniquely prepared for this role. Her boundless enthusiasm, her helpful, caring spirit, and her Kiwi friendliness will help many new volunteers have amazing experiences in Nepal.

It has been an absolute honor to work for Nepal Orphans Home and Volunteer Nepal, and I have no doubt that Eileen will do a magnificent job of carrying on our work.  Please join me in welcoming this wonderful person into her new role in the Nepal Orphans Home family!

All my best,

Michael Triozzi

Director of Volunteer Nepal
